Nowhere is safe from the undead

Billions died during the global civil war that followed the outbreak. Anarchy took grip. Chaos ruled. The world collapsed. In Britain, the evacuation failed. Nowhere was safe from the undead.

Four months after the outbreak Bill Wright has found safety in a ruined Abbey in southern England, but he is still alone. All he has for company are the files sent to him by his shadowy contact, Sholto. On those, he believes he has found the origins of the undead, and the vast conspiracy in which he discovers he played an unwitting part.

He needs answers, and knows the only place they will be found is at the facility that created the virus. As he journeys through the desolate ruins of a dead civilisation, he meets other survivors. He rescues some, is rescued by others, but ultimately discovers that zombies are not the most deadly threat in an undead wasteland. (76,000 words).

Surviving The Evacuation Book 2 Wasteland eBook Frank Tayell

What a great read for zompoc lovers and anyone who loves an exciting story with well-written, realistic characters who are not super heroes or ex-military jocks. No long discourses on guns, ammunition, knives, machine guns, night-viewing lenses, suppressors (not silencers), etc. A real story with people who grow and develop, become better and even heroic. Strong female characters who do not set up house. Believable emotional responses and likable characters as well as unlikable ones. Plus a bit of a mystery. This review is for the first 2 books. Impressive and worthy of keeping to read again- my best compliment! Kim O'Hair.

Surviving The Evacuation Book 2 Wasteland eBook Frank Tayell Reviews

Well, this has turned into a series that in the beginning I was certain would be just awful. I'm happy to say that I was wrong. Lots of zombie action going on, but the best part is the intrigue. Also, with my trusty map of England, I've been able to follow them all over the country side. I'm kind of hoping for Scotland in the next book! Yep, I'd recommend this story and author.
After racing through the first book completed fascinated, I immediately got this one. I sat up way too late reading it, then woke up way too early to finish it. Thanks for the note that some of the characters in book 3 showed up in the prequel; I didn't know there was a prequel. I've already read it and loved it too. I just bought the rest of the books in the series and can't wait to get some free time so I can start reading! I like Bill. I like that he didn't turn into Rambo when the world ended. I like that he's struggling through, figuring it out as he goes. I like the journal-style of the story. I'm just loving this whole crazy ride.
I entered this series thinking How can a book made solely of journal entries be interesting? Well, I finished Number 2 in one day! I found it a nail biting read! I hated putting it down even for a moment.
I cannot get enough of these books. I'm drawn in by the story telling and the characters that I'm nearly fan girdling over them. The second book answered many questions left after the first book ended, yet so many new ones have taken there place. The series is a wonderful distraction for me; I find myself mulling over things at random points in my day trying to figure out what happened and why. I can't get enough and cannot wait to move on to book three!
Surviving the Evacuation Book 2 Wasteland is a good read. I enjoyed reading all the way through it. Reading how the main character evolved and the hardships he went through just staying alive kept me wanting more. The book continues where the first book left off with a brief description of book 1. The World as the character knows it is gone and surviving is the number 1 priority. Staying alive, finding shelter, food, and water is a must and to do that it takes a lot of self discipline and courage. He finds others alive, but are they friends or foe? Nothing is the same and to survive you need to trust in others to keep you focused. Along the way they find children alive which changes everything. I'll have a problem putting this series down...
The book continues the story of one man's survival in the zombie apocalypse, but he is joined by others he finds along the road. This book does not have the same aura of desperation mixed with humor I found in the first book and the new survivors drag the book into the same formula found in many just OK post apocalyptic stories. The reader may want to consider waiting to get this book at an extrembly discounted or free price if they are interested in continuing the story.
I've grown quite fond of this series. The first book London has little action but still kept me interested. Once I finished it, I started a different book but couldn't stop thinking about London and if Bill would find the answers he was searching for so I bought the second book and immediately started it. I was not disappointed. Unlike the first book, Bill is not alone for long so there is more action. I had figured out who the guy was at the end but never would have guessed his real relationship with Bill, loved that twist.
